🚀
Getting Started

Squash GhostingX coaches you through squash ghosting drills using real-time voice calls and court visuals. No opponent needed — just a squash court or any open space.

Your two main entry points
⚡ Quick Start
One tap — starts immediately using your last session's settings. Perfect when you just want to train without fuss.
+ New Session
Opens the full setup flow. Choose court system, difficulty, duration, drill type and more.
Basic flow
  • Stand at the T (the T-junction centre line) before the session starts.
  • When the voice calls a position — e.g. "Front Left" — sprint there, play a phantom shot, and return to T.
  • Wait for the next call. Repeat until the session ends.
  • After each set, an automatic rest break fires. Catch your breath and prepare for the next set.
💡 Tip: Tap Repeat on the Last Session card on the Home Screen to instantly replay your last drill with the same settings.

Court Systems

Squash GhostingX supports two court coverage systems. Both follow the same rules — stand at T, sprint to the called position, return — but they differ in the number of zones.

6
6-Point
Classic squash ghosting. Front, Mid, and Back on both sides of the court. Ideal for all levels — the best place to start.
10
10-Point
Adds Front-Mid and Back-Mid positions for finer court coverage. Increases overall distance covered and demands sharper footwork.
Which should I choose?
  • 6-Point — recommended for beginners and intermediate players. Clear and fast to learn.
  • 10-Point — for advanced to elite players wanting full-court coverage and variety.
  • You can switch court system in Settings or in the New Session setup flow at any time.
📍
Court Positions

All positions are defined relative to a right-handed player facing the front wall. If you are left-handed, the app automatically mirrors every call so your forehand side is always called correctly.

FRONT WALL ↑
FL Front Left
T
FR Front Right
ML Mid Left
T
MR Mid Right
BL Back Left
T
BR Back Right
BACK WALL ↓

The T marker is your home base — always return to the T-junction after every position.

FRONT WALL ↑
FL Front Left
FR Front Right
FML Front Mid L
FMR Front Mid R
ML Mid Left
T
MR Mid Right
BML Back Mid L
BMR Back Mid R
BL Back Left
BR Back Right
BACK WALL ↓

10-Point adds Front-Mid and Back-Mid zones, increasing total distances run per session.

💡 Left-handed? Enable left-handed mode in Settings → Profile. Every "Left" call becomes your forehand corner and vice versa — the app handles the mirror automatically.

Session Settings
Difficulty

Controls how fast position calls fire and how many reps are in each set. Higher difficulty = shorter interval between calls.

Level Interval Best for
Beginner ~12 s Learning the movement pattern
Intermediate ~10 s Regular club player
Advanced ~8 s Competitive club / regional
Elite ~6.5 s Tournament level
Pro ~5.2 s Maximum physical demand
Tempo
  • Slow — extra recovery time between calls within the selected difficulty.
  • Natural — balanced rhythm; the recommended starting point.
  • Explosive — maximum pace for your chosen difficulty.
Movement Pace

Adds extra rest at T between each position call. Use Recovery or Measured while building fitness; switch to Brisk when match-fit.

  • Brisk — no extra pause. Fastest possible rhythm.
  • Steady — +1 second at T.
  • Measured — +2 seconds at T.
  • Recovery — +3 seconds at T. Great for high-intensity work with full reset time.
Duration

Session length in minutes. Auto rest breaks are inserted between sets — actual moving time is typically 60–70% of the duration.

Court Style

Choose between Wooden Court (warm hardwood with red lines) and Glass Court (dark premium stadium theme) for the in-session court visuals.

💡 Default settings (difficulty, tempo, court system) are saved in the Settings screen so Quick Start always uses your preferred starting point.
During a Session
Session flow
  • A 3-second countdown fires before each set begins — get to the T.
  • Voice calls the next position: "Front Left", "Back Right", etc.
  • Sprint to that corner, play your phantom shot.
  • "Recover to T!" fires — run back to the T-line.
  • Stand at T, wait for the next call. Repeat.
Live Pace Control

Use the +/− buttons on the session screen to speed up or slow down on the fly — 7 steps from Recovery (+3 s) to Turbo (−3 s). Your selection resets at the start of the next session.

Auto Rest Breaks

After completing a set, an automatic rest break fires. Duration scales inversely with difficulty — harder levels take shorter breaks to simulate match-intensity. A countdown plays before the next set begins.

Shot Calls

Mid-movement, the app may call a shot type ("Drive!", "Boast!", "Drop!"). This trains match decision-making alongside footwork. Shot calls can be customised or disabled in the drill configuration.

Voice Settings
  • Toggle voice on/off in Settings → Voice Instructions.
  • Adjust speed with Speech Rate (0.9× / 1.0× / 1.1×).
  • Choose Female or Male coach voice in Settings → Profile → Voice.
  • 15+ languages supported — set your preferred language in Profile.
💡 No sound? Turn off Voice Instructions and follow the court highlight visuals only — the active zone glows on screen as each call fires.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need an internet connection?
No. Squash GhostingX is fully offline. All your training data is stored on your device — nothing is sent to any server.
Can I train without sound?
Yes. Turn off Voice Instructions in Settings and follow the court highlight visuals only. The active position zone glows on screen as each call fires.
The voice seems slightly out of sync with the screen — is this normal?
The app pre-fires voice ~150 ms before the visual to compensate for iOS/Android TTS startup latency, so they should feel aligned. If you still notice a gap, try Speech Rate 1.0× in Settings → Audio.
What does Left-Handed mode do?
It mirrors all position calls Left ↔ Right so "Front Right" is your forehand corner and "Front Left" is your backhand. Set it in Settings → Profile → Dominant Hand.
Can I train without a real squash court?
Yes. Any open space roughly court-sized works fine. Mark out the T position with tape if it helps. The app is position-agnostic — it relies on your effort, not GPS.
How do I replay my last session?
Tap Repeat on the Last Session card on the Home Screen. It starts immediately with the same drill type, court system, and difficulty.
Where is my training data stored?
Entirely on your device using a local SQLite database. Deleting the app removes all data. There is no cloud sync or backup — this is intentional for privacy.
Can I change my skill level later?
Yes, at any time via Settings → Profile. Your historical data is unaffected — only future sessions use the new difficulty as the default.
How many languages are supported?
15+ languages including English (US & UK), Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Hindi, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean. Change language in Settings → Profile → Language.
